Off the back of our recent podcast episode with Amina Smith-Gil where we discuss at the beginning of the show about the films Black Folks Can’t Swim, it’s pleasing to see Alice Dearing, a Loughborough University graduate, be the the first black female swimmer to represent Britain at the Olympics.

It’s such a shame that it’s taken so long for this to be the case, but this is not surprising when living under white supremacy culture where racism has been the normal operating system.

In a recent Guardian interview Alice talks about her experience within the sport and how hopefully things are on the change now.
