We’ve been getting out walking. It’s what we do and we do it best within community. There is a different way of walking, of being within the landscape when you are there with people who look like you and share similar life experiences as you. Yes, we are individuals and unique, but when we can stride through the green spaces and do not have to explain or justify our existence there is a difference to how we are striding and holding our bodies in that moment.
Walking out, taking long and wide strides with the wind blowing through our hair and the air reaching the depths of our lungs, feeds the soul. Stores up the energy and love to go about our day to day tasks when we leave the trails and slip back into society.
I find that my smile is wider, that my shoulders are lower, away from my ears and I’m moving more slower and surer. I’m present and embodied and grateful.
