It was so good to get the old gang back together.
Back in 2021/2020, a group of 6 women came together to complete their Lowland Leadership Training along with their Outdoor First Aid Training. This March saw the group of Black and Brown women leaders retraining for their First Aid Certificate. The women always have a good laugh together. Yes it’s serious business re-familiarising themselves around what to do in an emergency, to save a life and keep everyone else in the group safe. But that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t enjoy the experience of learning. This group of women continue to bring a sense of joy to everything that they do. Anyone who has the opportunity to be in a learning environment with them should count themselves lucky.
The women are now qualified for another three years. Let’s hope it remains as a certificate and not needed to put into practice. But I have no doubt if called upon, these women will be ready to practice first aid, outdoors or indoors.
