Yetzi Cortés Flores is a {being} born in Mexico who now lives in Sheffield, England. She reads, writes and translates. She is completing a MA degree in Translation at the University of Birmingham. She studied her BA in English literature in UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.) At the same time, she works in a marketing company as costumer service agent, a job that grants her stability to pursue her creative interests.
Her work revolves around translation practices and the literary market, questioning the role of translators not purely as a “bridge” between cultures, but as active participants in reproducing/resisting dominant cultural and political narratives.
