It really warms my heart to read The Guardian today and see a feature around Black women making the British countryside more diverse.
I’ll forgive them for using BAME in the title of the article as a means of describing a diverse and rich group of people, but it’s good to see the work that we are going on the map and getting the recognition we need and deserve.
But let’s get one thing straight, Black women walking in this landscape is nothing new. We’ve been getting out there and finding peace within ourselves and this world through nature for decades. It’s good that we’re now all on the same page.
